Nice One mate, thats perfect, SW version 006.000.011 should be fine (0006.000.013 is the latest).
You should have the HD channels too. The 2 sets of Fbas are for the RSE, one set go to the cic/HU, and the other set go to the rear seat ent module. The 3rd antenna (pink), is for continual channel searching (needed for the RSE), if connected then the bonus is that the tv will scan all the time and pickup and store and also look for strongest channel signal at all times.

I'm finally returning to this project after successfully replacing my L-7 audio with IA this past weekend. Whilst doing the IA install, I rediscovered under the boot floor of my E93 all the old wiring where my old DAB unit used to sit before I replaced my CCC with CIC (which has DAB integrated). I'm wondering whether I can re-use any of this wiring, eg: the MOST and power connections, rather than re-routing the CD Changer wiring. I'm also not sure if there's any unused antennae cables in this location too from the old DAB unit - Ian (Alpina527) did my CIC install and sadly, I can't recall if he replaced the old DAB antennae's or reused them for the CIC DAB. Included a pick of what I think is my diversity antennae - will this one do, or should I look to change this? Last edited by dar2008; 07-19-2021 at 06:51 AM.. |

You sure can use some of that mate.
You should be good for the power, ground and MOST, you may need to reconnect the MOST back up. Although it does look like he has used a MOST loop adapter, so that's handy!! Im not sure what Ian would have done tbh, but you will be able to use the DAB antennas as they work on (pretty much) the same Freq here in the UK, you will get tv and radio cannels. The twin black antenna with the pink clip is the DAB antenna you may need to split them out or get a convertor, I would hook it up and try it tbh. Since you are already in the correct place, go for the updated tv (not the older e60) TV type. You will need the correct power/fbas plug and runs an FBAS to the cic from the TV module.

Also, re: the connector, you linked to this eBay item further up in this thread,... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-F01-F...EAAOSw6n5gWgIv Do you happen to know the Part No. for the connector? I'm about to order the bracket (9176373) from the dealer, so want to get the connector at the same time. Thanks EDIT: I think I've found the part number for the 12pin,... 61138364664, but still searching for the part number of the larger connector that the 12pin slides into and that accepts the MOST connection. Hi, just tried to send you a PM, re: FBAS lead, but it says you've exceeded your message storage quota. Any other way to get in contact?
Thanks |

To be safe get a module that specfically says DVB-T2 on the label. DVB-T2 + RSE is handy as the reception should in theory be better on the move. this link has part numbers. the line below "TV Module" will say DVB-T2 for the "best" type of box. if you go through you can see BMW moved to DVB-T2 modules around 2016: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/partxref?q=9228151 n.b. £150+ if you can get them as many EU countries are switching off DVB-T1 completely. DVB-T1 boxes can be found much cheaper because DVB-T2 are in demand for EU countries without DVB-T1. you can do what I did, upgrade to DVB-T1 first and then swap boxes to get DVB-T2 later. the wiring is the same. I placed my module in passenger footwell. Antennas can be a pain, I installed mine in the mirror caps along with GPS and 2x DAB. my mirror caps have 6 antennas since my CIC/DAB/DVB retrofits lol the antennas are usually behind bumpers. Don't forget you will need to code tv in CIC and this can be done in advanced of the install. Only some DVB-T2 boxes apparently need a FW update. |

Yes, RealOEM is a great source for finding the right and best parts for these types of retrofits and indeed I did scour there for the correct part numbers. This has led me to source a brand new DVBT-T2 box with the last / latest part number - https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/partxref?q=65508717279 with the most recent FW of 006.000.013. Managed to get it for £200, although it's not arrived yet... Fortunately my car was optioned with DAB and has the antenna in the rear bumper. The DAB connections are also under the boot floor as my original factory DAB unit was located there - before I replaced my CCC with CIC/DAB. I've got an adapter under the boot floor which takes in the two DAB antennas and sends a single feed to the back of the CIC for DAB reception. I'm hoping it will just be a case of splitting the two DAB antenna feeds to plug into the TV module, though can't believe it will be that easy. Separately, I've also just found myself a CD Changer and the required trim pieces to fit into the boot of my E93. I shall probably never use it, but it will just about complete my car in terms of factory options. Yes, aware I'll need to code the CIC, I'll probably also add both options to my VO. It's only recently that I've started to get more confident using NCSExpert etc., after successfully coding in my Individual Audio retrofit a few weeks back. |

I'm finally in the middle of doing this TV retrofit on my E93 M3. Biggest job so far has been removing the ski hatch assembly to gain full access to the boot underfloor area where the Combox sits, and my old DAB unit used to sit (before I upgraded my CCC to Dab enabled CIC).
The good news,...
What I'm still struggling with,... My car came from the factory with the DAB antenna installed in the rear bumper. According to RealOEM, the same antenna would have been fitted even if I had the TV option from the factory. However, I cannot find any spare antenna connections that would have been for the TV, I only have the two DAB antenna connections (1 x DAB L, 1 x DAB III) and fortunately, these are both located in the same underfloor boot area. So I think I need to add two splitters to both of these connectors, this will allow my DAB to continue functioning via the CIC, and then also feed my TV antenna inputs. The question is, which DAB Splitters should I buy? There are SO many options online and I don't want to get the wrong ones. Can anyone advise which splitter would be best to use in this situation? Note, my TV module also has a third antenna input (for background searching of channels I believe), so I am thinking to buy a separate antenna for that, which I'll try to place high up in the front of the car. |
