If the plugs are really dark after few miles maybe the motor is blown? Do a compression test to verify they are all close. If you can do a leak down test that would be even better.

i quote you one of the causes "the aftermarket intake pipe popped at the time the problem occurred" shiv posted this on the 13th and the op pull his plugs yesterday and saying its been running rich and yes i did read your post thank you.
