If you start at high enough of an rpm though, the car will not downshift even if you do go into the kickdown area. Therefore, you can just mash and go. |

How will it be better than the factory launch control (DTC) system?

Here is the Video.
This is 15m and posted on my personal site, so please don't link it ANYWHERE else. It's only for e90post members to view, as my bandwidth will go through the roof and I dont' want to pay for overages. If someone wants to just download it and post to youtube or streetfire, feel free to do so. http://www.kurtjones.com/cars2/335iPTT.mov The camera car is the e90 335i Step/Procede kj |

^^^^ Mad props man, sick vid, very clear, seems like the guy in the 6spd can't launch the car that well...
This is the kind of racing vids that are worth seeing, the ones at night taken with a PDA phone are not gonna cut it anymore, you spoiled it for all of us...

Thanks for the vids Kurt, well done, but I'd lose the music, I wanna hear the motors!!!!
No doubt there's a clear winner.

Thanks Kurt for posting up the video.
The first run sucked for both of us (mostly me though) the coupe got jump and I still had stability control on that one, so it was pulling my power back, but you can see I clearly reeled him in and started to pull away once I was on full power. The second run from 2nd gear was more like the results we got from the 3rd and 4th second gear start runs we did that wasn't on the video (PROcede auto sedan pulling away). The manual coupe launched ok, but he often spun a bit too much which seems like the issue for the manuals, they either spin too much or bog. But in the first run from the dig, I spun quite a bit too, I think I launched that one closer to 2K. The second run from the dig, I launched at about 1700 rpms and he also launched better on that one. Those runs went to about 100-110 mph (1/4 mile). Originally i thought the PROcede auto sedan pulled about 1.5+ cars from a roll and 2-2.25 car lengths from the dig, but after watching the video, it looks closer to 2+ from a roll and 2.5-3.0 car lengths from the dig. Bottom line the Turbo Tuner makes good power for the money for sure, just not as much as the PROcede. Most importantly tho. we had some GREAT fun!! Last edited by Driver72; 04-09-2007 at 09:22 PM.. |

But I can't tell where though, otherwise we may tip off the wrong people as to where I like to go. It was Easter Sunday too, which helped on having basically zero traffic. |

Great runs, guys. Great job on the video too! Pretty convincing runs from a dig!
Thanks for taking the time to set those runs up. |

Kurt, btw I agree, the music is too heavy metal, and I wouldn't leave it on your site. The word is going to get out and you'll be flooded with log ons.
Can we upload it to Streetfire?? |

Oh, BTW, forgot too mention on the 1st gear roll where Kurt was on the side of the road video taping, I had 2 people in my car (PROcede auto sedan) and the Turbo Tuner manual coupe just had the driver, so I was rolling with an additional 130 or so pounds. It's hard to see, but I took that race by about 3/4 car lengths.

hmmmm for less than half the price, the TT fared pretty well against the Procede...
Just too bad it can't upgrade its map like the Procede does

Without a doubt, but keep in mind the Turbo Tuner car had an advantage in weight (50-60 lbs less) and transmission (manual). An apples to apples comparison with my PROcede auto sedan is coming soon with a Turbo Tuner auto sedan. I suspect you can add another 1 car length distance between my car and the Turbo Tuner auto sedan in the same distance runs. The Turbo Tuner manual coupe would of run about dead equal with an E46 M3 with SMG, 3.91 gears and intake. When I ran Drew in his M3 (which had the above mods), that's about the same distance I pulled on him. |

Great job with the vids kujo!! it sure was a blast. I had launched my car from a dig only a handful of times since getting the TT and really haven't gotten used to the difference in wheel spin. I am running on stock runflats and he had aftermarket non-rft's. So that + wheelspin made all the difference in the launches.
All-in-all, speaking as a TT owner that just raced a PROcede'd car's perspective; my feeling about the two products is the same as it was going into it. They are two products that are at perfect price points for what you want to get from them. I am pretty happy with the TT; but pretty sure I will switch over to PROcede once the bluetooth functionality is worked out. My car is Aug '06 production so I really just got the TT to hold me over till i was sure I didn't have a faulty fuel pump. Just hit 5,200 today and still pullin hard as ever! *knock on wood* |
