I think my current razor has four blades. It's a bit silly.

These days I just use an electric razor. Takes about 4 minutes. Too easy. |

I use Gillette Mach3 razors now. This is the last package I bought on Amazon. They last me a long time, and I don`t get razor rash. I have sensitive skin

Pre-1950. That's when Transcontinental and Western Air became Trans World Airlines. Not sure that name would fly these days either.

Deja Vu. My dad had the very same Old Spice mug and brush set in the 1950's. He used a straight razor until sometime in the 1970's when his hands began to shake too badly. I remember lathering up the brush and smearing it all over my prepubescent face, but the one time I tried the straight razor was the last time.

we threw extra principal on ours for years, and when we bought this house we went for a 15-year instead of 30, and still kept throwing extra, and we paid it off a few years ago.

The mortgage company that we used would not write us for a 15-year mortgage, pushing us into a 30-year 5/1 ARM I gather because it had the highest sales commission for the mortgage rep. Since we weren't planning to hold it for more than 5 years, we settled on this and made extra principal payments every month out of principle. After the bubble popped and as the first rate adjustment was approaching, the mortgage company started sending out scary "you better re-fi now into a fixed-rate mortgage before your ARM adjusts" notices every month. We decided to let it ride. The reason for their trying to push fixed-rate conversions was that they never envisioned negative interest rates when writing the ARM formula. To protect consumers, NY State has a cap of 0.5% per year on ARM increases, but no floor limit on how far they could fall. TL;dr the first adjustment set the interest to might as well be zero percent, and it would take them 5 years to get it back up to even 3% because of the cap. After a few years of losing money on our mortgage, they sold it off to a bank that specialized in destroying people's credit. Before that transfer even finished, we did a re-fi through our credit union for 15 years at 2.75% fixed. We paid that at a 10-year pace, and will be 100% paid off by the December holidays...in 19 years. At that point, we can sell at any time and use the proceeds to build the retirement Garage Mahal down yonder at the tree farm. The interesting thing to me is that mortgages during my grandparents' times were mostly 20 years. Having paid ours off in about that time, I have to ask why someone has to search far and wide to find a bank writing 20-year mortgages these days?????
