Thanks. I'll be flying to San Diego on the 14th.

I'm going for a conference, but taking my rig, because we'll go up the coast with stops in Newport Beach, Monterrey and landing in SF, where my youngest lives. Maybe I'll get the moon a day early or late. It shows more detail before and after full anyway.

Hey Alan, ever been to see the Falkirk Wheel? Just saw some pics and a video about it. Definitely a must-see when we visit Scotland.

Never been Mark, but it is on my list 'to do'. It's only around 150 miles south of here so I really ought to make the effort.
Night shots look especially good. Also close by are 'The Kelpies', take a look on Google.

I'm also looking forward to the 14th.
Looking on TPE the moon will be rising across The Moray Firth, and with moonrise here at 16:36 GMT, the light should be right . . . and I'll be home for tea !

Just need something of a clear sky and we haven't had too much of that recently.

^^^That's a great shot of the Flatiron Bldg. I think I would have cropped in just a tad to eliminate the wires on the right and the blue umbrella on the left. Or if you want to preserve the image dimensions, clone them out. Stellar shot, though.

Not a great photo (focus point is totally wrong) but it captures the atmosphere of my sons recent kickboxing fight amazingly well.

p.s. he's the one dishing out the head kicks and yes, he won #proudparent

Great shot, catching the peak of action.

There seems to be lots of DOF, so maybe you're dealing with motion blur. This needed to be 1/1000-sec. or higher to stop this action. Don't be afraid to pump up your ISO.

Thanks Alan. Of course that is one shot of a burst, but I must say I have been having good luck turning control of the autofocus points to the camera in these situations instead of trying to keep one point on the bird manually.

On the NYC theme. Here are two recent shots.

Normally I do not do selective color, but I thought it would work for this shot(2nd shot)
