i am running the RSR's now and they stick okay for the price at the drag strip.. cant beat a 12.4 though... anyone run these at the strip?

Curious to know what your 60 ft time was on these tires. Launch rpm? LSD?

12.4 for MT isn't bad at all. AT will shift faster and hold boost better thus being quicker. I have MT too.

2.0221 @12.43

2.1138 @ 12.45 at 118mph

No lsd with launch a little above 2k.... im now on r888s with 17s... we shall see if i can cut the 60ft

Thanks.... my buddy in his 1 series Auto same set up but with inlets runs 12.1s consistently on 18in r888s

Your 335i runs stronger then! Considering is heavier, MT and on "lesser" tires. I bet if you add weight in his car it won't be faster than 12.4

I did 11.79@119 on my Toyo r888's (on stock turbos) but they are down to the legal road limit now. I ordered some RR's yesterday. Should have them end of the week. Actually looking forward to them. Just hoping the 265 doesn't rub. My arches are rolled. On a 18" rim. 9.5 I think.
The GC turbos are now on the car and it's somewhere around 530whp at 23 psi. I thought I'd go for the RR over the R to see how they go at the drag strip. About half the cost of the R888s which I've really enjoyed. I run this set in summer only as England's weather sucks so much. Never very warm here and often wet.
Think I'll still get one last run at the strip with the R888s. Even though I've cut low 1.9s on the Toyos (60ft) I was often getting 2.4 to 2.6 secs. These 335s can be a bitch to launch.

These will be daily driven. You guys say the road noise is bad? I find the 335i cabin so well insulated that I barely hear my engine and the Toyos don't seem any louder than my PSS?

man, just over $500 for a set of 265/35 w/ 275/35 rear on amazon and stickier than hankook rs-3... wish i got time for track days this season...

Just got a set installed!

Tires: $500 shipped
Mount: $95

Wow very impressed so far. It's 70f and these tires stick just as well if not better than rs3 did in 90f. Can't wait to see what they do on track and warmwr weather. I can actually stick in 1st now.

I did notice there was 0 audible feedback at the limit. Maybe that will change with heat and a little bit of wear. Feels good so far at slight slip angles.

I am not 100% sold these are good road course tires. They grip well in a straight line, but they provide vague steering feel and no feedback when they slip/spin. The tire appears very meaty, providing for nice rim protection, and "runs wide;" however, the actual tread pattern is fairly narrow in comparison. The RS3 I was coming from had a very square shoulder and the tires were meant to be worn to the very edge of the tires sidewall. The wear indicator on the RS-RR is very high up on the sidewall. Seems like there is less outside edge of the tire to take advantage of for roadcourse driving and long sweepers that require sustaining high g's. So far, I have noticed decrease lateral g's. RS3 would touch 1.3g's and held a steady state of over 1.1x (broken in). These tires so far have peaked at 1.1 doing the same tests on the same turns and held at around 1.0. Braking was also down from 1.1g's to .9g's. Acceleration g's did increase from .6 to .7 though.

I'll wait to see how they do once the tread wears down a bit. Should get some good data at lime rock this weekend! All around still a fantastic tire for the money.

The Federal's disappointed at the track. They might work better as an autocross tire than a road course tire. Straight line acceleration is improved, and so is operating temps, but they do not hold lateral g's the way Hankook RS3's did. The Federal's have good value in cheap fun, but next time around I'll spend the extra coin.

Max G's I pulled at Lime Rock was 1.0 and holding .9x. RS3's would regularly hold 1.1x and peak 1.2-1.3 g's. Best laps were in the 1:09 range. I had more confidence in the steady state grip of MPSS.

I have pics, video, and data to upload when I get a chance. Another thing to note was that I never even came close to the scrub bar. I had bled all the way down to 28psi/26psi cold coming off at around 36psi hot and the tires were still way above the wear bar (-2.0/-1.7* camber). Things improved throughout the day the more I bled the tires down. This must be a function of the rounded sidewall and the lack of lateral grip? Can't say I wasn't pushing it...

Although I knocked significant time off my bests at Road Atlanta and NCM, the wear is horrid for track work. I pretty much trashed them at NCM for two days. They really hung in and lateral was 1.28G's sustained, but 4 track days and they are toasted. Wet traction is completely gone. Was worth the test, but... thumbs down for track tire.

I'm not pleased either. I bought 6 of them. For a DD they would not be a bad choice, but for the way I push a tire on track, not going to be cost effective.

Yeah, even for DD use they are too much. Very loud, and heavy. I'll give them a shot on the Autocross course, but I won't be unhappy when they wear out.

I think part of the reason they inspire a lot of confidence in their grip at first is because they give 0 feedback. Some tire brands at least squeal pretty loud at the limit. I realize now there at times my wheels are spinning and I can hardly tell.
