So many variables at play here. Y pipes? X pipes? H pipes? Resonators? Mufflers? 3" all the way back or 2.5" all the way back?

Then we see a single 3" straight pipe exhaust split at the end:

Hard to know 100% which way is the best way to go.

Good day,

Thanks for your interest.

Send you annexed an offer from the BMW 335D.

For the complete exhaust system from Turbo with straight pipe i offer you the price of 2750 Euros.

The system is without a cat and a dpf.
The sound is unique and very brutal but very comfortable to drive through the flap system.

Our systems are designed on 3D software for maximum performance, all the sheets are bent with our own pipe bender, developed and produced. Handmade in Germany!

If you opt for the system, we can offer you next week to produce an exhaust system with because we only manufacture 335D systems here.

Hope I could help and I would appreciate a response.

For further questions, I would like to advise you by phone.

Sincerely yours

Stefan Jahn

So how do I post sound clips on here? Do I need to do a video or is there another option?

No, no post yet of a video when I last left off here. But my setup is now a bit different. After finally coming up with a solution for my wastegate and overboost (will start a new thread on this), I took out my resonators and put 2 high-flow cats where they were (to kill some stink), then I ripped out the mufflers and put the resonators where they where. And some quad tips . So once I get this all back together I will basically have straight exhaust with high-flow cats.

Here is the latest revision to my exhaust. No mufflers, just high-flow cats and resonators. Hoping to get the car back on the road this weekend so I can hear the results....

So is 3" to 2.5" the way to go? Any way to run a dual 3" system, or simply not enough room?

Nice. Looking forward to more updates.

I'd specifically like more pictures of your lift/garage! I love that kind of stuff...

Also, if you have time, I'd be interested in what "cats" you are you using and if it helps the "smell". Most of the Diesel Oxidation Catalysts I've looked at require a minimum temperature to initiate oxidation, and it's not looking like my post turbo EGT's are sufficient to keep them in that range for normal driving conditions.

Actually got it a while back from a forum member. As far as I know it is just a standard M-Tech carbon diffuser for quads.

You could but it's not necessary. After playing around with different restrictor plates when initially trying to curb my overboost I am convinced you could run a single 2.5" exhaust on these cars without restricting anything.....so dual 3" is wayyyy overkill.

Ha! It's mine and my dad's shop and although we have a good variety of tools and a lot of cool projects have come out of it over the years it pretty much always looks like a bomb hit it lol

I am running high-flow "gas" 200 cells at the moment. No they are not ideal for a diesel (or that far back in the exhaust stream) but I am hoping at least some reaction occurs taking some of the edge off of the stank. We will see....
