Talked with the dealer today. Car came in late Saturday and I'm picking her up tomorrow morning. It's 8 weeks to the day since I ordered it. I'll post pictures once she's here.

After 8 weeks of wait she's finally here!

She's a 328xi in Montego Blue with Oyster/Black on Alu trim.

Congrats! Mine has been awaiting transport since Oct 18th and four boats have left during that period... The automated line and the website both still say awaiting transport, my CA says all he has is that is is produced and not shipped, and my vin doesn't show on the WW website.

Are there any other shipping lines (websites) that BMW uses to ship to the east coast besides WW?

10-22 My car went into production
10-30 says vehicle being transfered to port of exit

Does anyone know for east coast, how long before it gets on ship and how long it takes to be at dealer. I'm guessing about 1 month before I have my car.

There's a great sticky at the top of this forum on this. Basically your car will be at the port awaiting a ship for up to a week. It then takes about 12 days on the ocean to get to the east coast dock in New York (actually NJ). From there it takes a while to get off loaded, prepped then shipped to your dealer. A good guess is 3-4 weeks for the entire process.

Production wait time

So I've read a lot here about wait times once production has started, but I can't find much of anything regarding order-to-production. Is it normal to wait a full month before a car is produced?? I received a production number on 10/08, but here it is 11/04 and I still get "Your vehicle is scheduled for production, with no confirmed production date..."

Sounds unusually long... My 335d was ordered on 9/24, car was produced on 10/15 and due to arrive in the states on 11/5. Dealer says 2 to 3 days for delivery to dealer.

My car was originally ordered in Mid-July and didn't actually go into production for about 2 1/2 months. Keep in mind the factory was closed in August though.

Ordered 8/30, car was produced on 9/16. Mine said that message for a long time even after it was already entered into production. Call your CA and ask what they see on their system. It is a lot more accurate than the phone system which is annoying at best.

Yeah, I talked to my CA the other day and he said second week of Nov... but with the possibility it could get pushed to the 1st week. Being on the West coast, at this rate it seems I'd be lucky to see it within 10 weeks. :/

Thanks...

It took about a month from the time I ordered my car until it the ship sailed from Bremerhaven. This means about 3.5 weeks from order to completion of production. It arrives today at the port in Baltimore.

I've been awaiting at the port for a shipping vessel for the past 4 days. I guess I could be waiting for awhile then.

My car just changed to "En Route" today. So it appears it sat for 5 days awaiting a shipping vessel. It must be on a ship now.

Hey Bimmerforlife,

I'm from Florida to and the 1800 number said in transit the same day as you.. But when I went to the WW website and enter my vin it said no record found. I think I might be on the same ship as you. Do you know when it's gonna dock in the US?

Sorry I didn't respond earlier. I'm pretty sure the ship arrived in Baltimore last Friday. BMW tracking says my car is at the preparation center.
