It does not look like equal length based on pictures. Any information on the diameter of the pipe? I am curious to what the ID is where each bank combines into 1. Looks a littler on the restrictive side, but I could be way off.

I just find it funny.. that it wasn't until Team Vishnu started posting progress on their single turbo that HPF decided to all-of-a-sudden have progress after HOW many years... smh

If i wanted to upgrade to a single i'd probably go team vishnu's route when it's available. As i probably won't need to find gold laying on the side of a river in narnia under a starry night with a pixie fairy leading the way for me in order to purchase the kit -__- .

I think that is just the angle of the picture throwing you off. However, it might be the closest thing to equal length we've seen for this platform compared to other prototypes? Maybe....

Having an perfectly equal length header is really on beneficial in a non-turbo application, where the pressure pulses are used for exhaust scavenging purposes. This is not the case in a turbo application where the engine relays on exhaust pressure to spin a turbo to pressurize the intake.

But having a turbo header that avoids very uneven runner length keeps one cylinder from running other than the rest. Almost always, its the cylinder with the shortest runner length that runs extra hot. In the case of many log style manifolds, one cylinder has a super short runner of only a few inches. Which is undesirable due to this behavior. This is why we opted for a more labor intensive, but more optimal design, that keeps the min runner length reasonably long. And offers smooth, low angle merges at every transition point. This will result in good spool-up/turbo response compared to a conventional log style manifold. The ID of the main collector is approx the same diameter of the turbine housing inlet which is also desirable.

Looks like 1-1/4" sched 10 maybe 5 pipe.

That looks great. Why is it that you don't just use the N55 design for the single turbo option? Doesn't that manifold just bolt on?

For one, the runners are far to skinny to support big power. That alone took it out of the running.

Well, I'm sure the E46 M3 market still has a demand for turbo kit's, and the last time I was in their shop they sure had a lot of E46's sitting around. Demand and compitition drives development to include $$$. Everyone is watching and with so many E9x's going out of warranty, people will be looking for alternitive options to the bi-turbo's limitations. Just look at all the developement that came out of COBB, JB, and Vishnu this summer with the tuning wars. HaHa, we have guys hitting 475hp and 500 ft/lbs with meth running stock turbo's (but only with the PROcede that I'm aware of, thanks Shiv).

So don't knock the compatition, because it will help drive developement efforts and ultimately help keep the price down.

Not cheap.

But one thing is for sure. HPF will have the biggest power output and highest quality kit.

HPF just does things correct.
