My SA is rediculous. I called him today (like the 6th time in a month and a half, so not tooo often) and hes like, "I told you the last time the ETA of your car is the 16th" and I was like yeah, well I think the boat got in a little early. Then hes like "When the car comes in, Ill call you just be patient" Im getting so irritated. He wont give me any updates.
Then, on another note, I told him not to wash my car. He refused to not wash the car, and said they will "hand" wash it. Hes like "it isnt a good business to sell a forty five thousand dollar car without it being clean". I just was thinking to myself, Is it a good business to not satisfy your customer? or to sell a 45,000 dollar car with nasty swirl marks in it? He is pissing me off soo much.

Don't listen to the 800#, mine thinks I'm in Bremerhaven again awaiting a shipping vessel. The OC website is usually a couple days behind, you've gotta be in the VPC.

As for your CA, that's horrible man, sorry to hear that. I've called mine a bunch of times over the past couple months and he's been completely cool with me. I even apologized once since I thought I was calling him too much and he said it was nonsense, he knew I was just trying to stay on top of things. The car wash issue is rediculous, I don't see what he loses by selling you a dirty car at YOUR request.

TML - Did you run your VIN on the WW website and confirm the car was discharged? I'd trust that more than the OC or the 800#! As for the washing, I don't know how much stuff they have to do. I'm sure there will be a survey and you can express your opinions there and BMW can do with that what it will. I don't get why they won't do it either, unless they are required by some rule, in which case he's doing what he has to do.

My SA gave me mine just before the car went to production. Once your car has been scheduled for production they assign it a VIN and the SA should have a revised PO with the VIN on it. Usually you need this info for the lean holder protion of the car if you took out an auto loan. Call your SA and he should be able to hook you up.

Go to Owner's Circle and go though the the into screen to the Vehicle Tracking Screen. Then click on "Review Order Detail" -- your VIN is there near the top.

My dealer still has to install Sirius and iPod, so realistically, I don't expect I'll be able to get it til tomorrow at the earliest. Though maybe my CA can move the earth for me.

WARNING: Stay away from the funky bathroom

moderate on the throttle... seals will seat properly at 3k and up (go past 3k but not past 4500)

If its a lease dont both reading the rest... but ask for a free or discounted break in oil change. I did and mine will be $85 scheulded for 6/16/07.

tire & wheel prot pkg can be purchased elsewhere for less... be smart if shopping elsewhere... myself i went back to my infiniti dealer for the tire & wheel ($400).

finance mgr will offer 8 or so additional warranty items... for myself the only one that looked appealing was the dent/ding for $400... if you get the dent/ding it only covers sides of the car. Not the hood/not the roof/not the trunk.

I picked up my car it was immaculate... while not a picus immaculate... it was very good for a dealer. please note later that day i found an ink stain on the rear seat back that was partially removed. while this isnt a concern I did see it later, its a beige interior. if your anal about stuff like that , look over the car for 5-10 minutes... going very slowly over every inch of sheet metal, wheels,trunk,plastic, headlights. interior do the same. also keep an eye out for paint matching problems... if anything was matched you might be able to see it.

gl and get wheel wax on standby ... brake dust is horrendous

Thanks guys and yes I will definitely post up pics, hopefully tonight! I had a lot of fun tracking our cars with you guys, it was nice to be able to share the excitement with people who could relate to the whole ordering experience(my friends thought I was nuts when I showed them the GPS views of the ship! ).

Talked to my CA. What did I do wrong? He said that as of yesterday, the car was set to be released on the 11th. He's out of the office today, but said he would check in on the status later this afternoon to see whether that is still accurate.

Congrats to those that will be driving in the next couple of days! Color me jealous.
