I arrived in socal yesterday for work hoping for good weather and it's been raining here non-stop!! But AT LEAST the roads are really nice!! NO POTHOLES! and the 405 has 8 lanes each way - I'm so used to driving looking around for holes now that I feel sorry for myself.

I thought westchester was bad with 684/taconic but those roads seem like a gold mine compared to the POS known as LIE and northern state. Although the LIE gets somewhat better as you enter suffolk county. Changing lanes on the LIE is downright dangerous with all the massive crater sized holes that have appeared everywhere. The HOV lane is also a joke.

I think whats worse is the people that drive on these roads. Bunch of pricks. I always drive slow in the middle lanes and keep distance so I can see a pothole coming but I always get cut off by some jerkoff in a minivan or big ass SUV which makes spotting a pothole 1000x harder.

In my town today there is a two lane road that has a series of potholes on the side and they are DEEP and BIG so naturally most people drift into the oncoming lane slightly to avoid them. Anyway I barely drifted into the lane when this jerkoff girl in a big ass pos pilot tried to hit me by coming all the way into my lane while flipping me off. This resulted in me going over all those potholes. Luckily I was able to make a quick u turn and get ahead of the pilot girl so that I could test my brakes . They work very well. ; )

Wow - I had to watch your video a few times to actually see the pothole. Sorry to see/hear. You didn't have a chance - totally snuck up on you.

I felt the pain probably more than anyone here, Lost my dear friend 2 weeks ago, riding motorcycle cause he hit a pot-hole. It's still too early to go riding, especially with salt/sand on the road. There are countless pot-holes out there, you can't expect city to patch them all up so soon. I doubt you'll be able to seek legal action against the city. He died in Minnisota btw.

Ouch ! I've had it as well selling my car and going to look at a Grand Cherokee, X3 or Q5 and not putting big wheels at all.

I'm supposed to head up to NY this weekend. The E90 is staying at home after seeing these videos.

I would avoid driving at night actually that's where you'll missed most potholes.
During the day if you must drive go for it, try to stick to highways and yes NYC hwys are screwed after all the snow we got.

Best idea is to keep driving those winter 16-17, if you have nice 18+ keep them in the garage until further notice.

this is why I'm almost afraid to get after market wheels, here in Edmonton they will kill you, Ive heard a few big bangs that make me cringe especially when the puddles do a good job of hiding them, you'd almost think I was drunk the way I swerve around them.

How fucked up is this. We all drive the cars we desired to own yet are afraid to drive them because we're afraid the roads will destroy rim/suspension. I ask myself this question every day- "why the hell do I continue to stay in the north east when I cant even pursue the few pleasures I have in life-driving my car & motorcycle"

I was speaking to a friend over the weekend about this - he said his 'cheap' mechanic told him he needs $1200 of suspension work because of a pothole. He owns a Nissan Maxima and the tires and rims are ok!

Bronx River Parkway going south is almost vomit inducing... I heard my car make sounds that had me sure I'd cracked a rim or destroyed my suspension.

There is one that's under a bridge so you don't even see it.

can't do that, ego to big. jk, my 3 hasn't come out to play for 3 weeks.

also, bqe is like a slalom course, if the consequences weren't so high, it would make a fantastic autocross course
