The difference in price was not bad and I did not want to regret not getting the 6. The 230 is an excellent vehicle to say the least.

I honestly like the curved display; it looks unique and futuristic. Also, according to a leaked picture, it seems that even the new S650 Mustang will get widescreen panels similar to the ID8.

I can see these type of screens on electric cars or luxury cars but in a sports car it just looks odd to me, especially in the mustang pic. Just my opinion though.

I kind of agree. New things may seem odd in the beginning but then we get used to them as they become more prevalent. I remember when Apple released the iPhone X with a notched display which was criticized by many people. But then guess what happened?! A domino effect. Almost every phone now has a notch, and it became a new normal. The thing with technology is that whenever a new thing is released, it immediately outdates the previous generation. Another example, yesterday I updated my phone to iOS 16, and I honestly didn't like the new interface that much. Will I downgrade to iOS 15? the answer is NO, I wouldn't, because Apple channeled their efforts to make it more advanced and secure compared to iOS 15. That’s again the way I see the transition from iD7 to iD8.

I don’t mind the Mustang’s screen but if you’re going to go with this ultra modern screen look, why use such rounded corners? It looks like an iPhone from 2008. It also looks kinked in the middle rather than curved. iD8 looks better IMO

If you're referring to the screen, then quite frankly BMW should be ashamed. There's zero integration with the dash…ZERO. |

With the iPhone 14 pro release the notch evolves to "dynamic island." Let's see how that works out - Im genuinely curious. That being said,ID8 might be good, and a curved high res screen might be nice - but plopping it on the dashboard with a "kickstand"however, is hard to defend. |

The mustang was created to have this screen. BMW refreshed the current design layout and added a new screen. That`s why it appears to not fit as good. I do think the actual screen looks better than the mustang but it probably cannot match the integration of the mustang.

as with changes, companies have to change, or they become blackberries and oldsmobiles. do you think apple would have be where they are today if they just kept with the ipod and not notice the growing popularity of phones with embedded mp3 players? of course not, that is why they released the phone+ipod (iphone). car manufacturers don't care if the 1% whiner/boomer cries about the changes. they focus on the next generation of buyers. |

This isn't quite Apples to Apples no pun intended. Or is it? Apple always intentionally leaves room for improvement to give consumers a reason to buy the next gen, even when changes are minor. Perhaps BMW half assed the screen to dash integration to setup a future improvement for the LCI. |

I'm no fan of Mustangs (although I've owned 3), but that looks pretty darn good.

Everyone’s hating on it and haven’t seen it in action. I pretty much said this earlier in the thread. Larger screens give you more customization options

Anyway here are some alternative integrations with the latest tech in future high end vehicles to help get the point across. |

I have a 22 being delivered next week. I don't hate it (ID8). But as Soflacarguy said, the integration of it sucks. It looks like an afterthought. I honestly could care less what version I have as I am more interested in driving than playing with a screen. They could've easily took the current dash and configured these screens into them. It all comes down to being cheap and making things easy to replace.
It also comes down to personal preference and no one should be called out as haters or non-adapter if they prefer the simplicity and cohesiveness of the ID7 dash layout.
