Awesome looking B48! I just looked up the difference in power output between MY2021 and MY2022 and the 2022 230i is laying down 295 ft-lb of torque where the F-series 230i has 258 ft-lb out of the box. That's a serious bump in power and once tuning's available on the G-series 230i we're looking at possibly 375 ft-lb of torque with a simple Stage 1 tune. Talk about bang for your buck.

Great review, glad your happy with your purchase even though you didn't get what you originally ordered. I've looked and looked around for a 240 that was close to my spec and couldn't find one. I ended up going with the M340 instead since my dealer had an allocation. Again congrats.

Congrats on the new 230 and it is just beautiful in that color!
I love these write-ups and reviews of the 230. This site gets saturated with the M240 that little can be known of the 230. I took delivery of my 230 M Sport last November and I just love, love, love it. I say, it you don't need a monster 0-60 time, don't waste the $8K. I got mine in a low-content trim (only the M Sport and Dynamic Handling packages...with a moonroof delete of course). Upgraded tires (255s on all corners) and the handling is as good as it'll get for a new 2 Series. If you're willing to use ALL of the motor, it's damn quick too...as you noted. I'll take a tune for another 25-40 hp/tq some day, but not necessary. PS: Post a pic or two of that E46 M3 ;-) |

Haha. My daughter is actually 4yo so she's not a baby anymore but still needs a car seat. Truth be told, my wife is the one who actually convinced me to follow my instinct and get the 230. I actually felt the 330 would be more functional. And I think we tried to think of it upside-down. For a 1 person commuter with 2 small children, a 2 door coupe is just right. I can enjoy my 1 person drive to work and in the weekend, my kids fit in the back. Once they are teenagers, that back seat won't fit anymore. And if ever we need more space, then we take wife's X3. No secret, just a different perspective 😊✌️

It is a little bumpy but it's "bmw bumpy" meaning nothing out of the ordinary from a sports coupe. It feels controlled, smooth and firm. The cabin comfort and overall sound dampening makes the ride feels luxurious but sporty, which may be different in a different car brand.

It remains grey. I'm not sure what people mean when they say it changes white. It only does that in pictures. In real life, with your own eyes, it maintains this rather deep grey in cloudy weather. With the black wheels; it looks real mean

I don't think pictures do this color justice. It seems to change color somewhat under different lighting conditions (I know most colors do that under some conditions) but it's not a "flat" or monotone color like some manufacturers' are. The fine metal flake gives it a "glow" under high lighting. I'm pretty happy with this color that I ordered sight unseen.

Pretty much what I see every morning when I go outside. Makes for a good day.
