May be a misunderstanding, the fuse is certainly there. The fuse puller is not there. I used some needle nose pliers to pull the fuse and it’s sounding much better!

Just done mine today,

Can confirm no fuse puller by the looks of it anymore.

Also the Bimmerlink App worked fine on the new iDrive 8 version to open the valve.

You can also put the car in sport but I actually found on a previous BMW the valve would only half open when in sport. So I wanted to use Bimmerlink to make sure it was fully open. You can also just about see the valve when you look at an angle.

If I get any issues I will post but looks ok for now.

To confirm, you pulled the fuse and then what setting in bimmerlink did you change for ID8? Doesn't the fuse pulling already keep the valve opened all the way?

No firstly just used Bimmerlink to open the valve from the app then pull the fuse.
I know putting it in sport probably does the exact same but I wanted to use Bimmerlink to make sure it was all the way open after issues on a previous car where the valve would only open 3/4 of the way when in sport and idle.

No settings were needed, Bimmerlink is a little different to Bimmercode and you don't need to select a car from the list on the app. Just plug in and connect.

Based on the start date of this thread, I suspect that most of those who pulled the F203 fuse are for MY 2022 with an iD7 operating system.

Can those with a MY 2023 with iD8 system confirm this still work?
Is there any error message or check lights?

Didlya have it in sport mode and warmed up, running. so the flapper was actually open when you pulled it? Ain't gonna work otherwise. All you are doing is deactivating the circuit that controls that flapper if the valve is closed when ya pull it...we you just made sure it will stay closed.

I’d love to code out the auto stop/start and reset the default setting for individual sport mode

I did it in sport + on cold start up when it's the loudest it ever gets. After a short time, it got quiet. So, the valve had to have power to it still. I did the fuse pictured in post #20 F203. Can't be the same on a 2023 then I would think.

Alltough on cold start the car is louder. The flaps are still closed!!
You have to wait till the car runs warm and you will hear the flaps open up in Sport(+) Only then pull the fuse.
Next time you’ll cold start… braise yourself, it will be LOUD.

And yes, it still works just the same for MY2023

No unfortunately you can't do much with Bimmerlink as most/all of the coding is done via bimmercode which is still not compatible on iDrive 8 G42's.

I think the i4 recently got added which is iDrive 8 so there is hope.

Smile 2023 X3 Exhaust flap actuator

I looked at my X3 M Sport left side exhaust while the engine was off and it had sat over-night, and the flap was open. I pulled the fuse and now no matter what mode it is in, the exhaust flap actuator is WIDE OPEN.
