I for one am glad to see people in the sphere of the automotive press not participate in the regurgitation of BMW marketing simply because BMW told them to and/or put them up for the trip (this 2nd part we have no confirmation of as it pertains to TH). While the exterior gag was over the top I'd still mark it as a showing of integrity. Something that's sorely lacking elsewhere.

The M3 and M4 in rwd are available in Canada with the 6MT.They are also from Toronto where BMW Canada is located. So they should have been able to get a 6MT to drive but who knows how easy that is to do.

Don't you dare bring logic into this. I think you're forgetting that some forum member's identities are based on the car they drive, so when someone says the car really isn't that great, this is seen as a direct insult to their self worth.

IT'S JUST A CAR, PEOPLE! YOU'RE STILL GOING TO ENJOY DRIVING IT FROM POINT A TO POINT B!

Personally I love Savagegeese, they’re first on my list of YouTubers whose opinions I value. But you’re absolutely right, they aren’t always perfect. They never actually reviewed the OG M2 manual, but Mark got to do a short track drive and there’s a video of his impressions. He trashed the car, pretty much because he had no idea how to turn off rev matching. Can’t necessarily blame him, he didn’t have time to sit and read the manual. That was a huge missed opportunity though, since I would’ve loved to see their take on the car if they had taken the time to understand it the way they usually do. They did do a review of an M2C with the DCT and loved it. Yes, the DCT is great. I’ve owned both. But considering Mark’s love of manuals (which I share) I wished he’d known what he needed to when he drove the OG.

SG is my number 1 channel, but I'm starting to dismiss them more and more because they appear to be "hating" new stuff no matter what. The fact of the matter is that it isn't the 80s or 90s anymore and all of these reviewers need to get over that fact. I'm tired of hearing lamenting comparisons to 20 or 30 year old cars.

I thought SG hated all of the F8x cars for the same reasons TH appears to like them.

I wouldn't be surprised if SG likes the composed, linear-powerband G87.

And as much as I love SG and I’ll be interested in their take on the car, if they do trash it I won’t be canceling my order for a G87 with a manual unless I’m unimpressed after I actually test drive one myself. Taking in diverse opinions is great. But at the end of the day I know what I like and what I want out of owning a car.

Mark loved the M2C. Their video on it is a pretty good watch.

At this point they must for consistency, or it's gonna come of as very skewed. Even the lotus they have on order, I want to see the TH 4th gear challenge.

When I am late to pick up the kids from daycare/soccer practice:
So listen, here is the trick! What I do is I drive 15mph under the speed limit...then here is the cool part... I UPshift into 4th gear... wait for it... then I floor it! 60% of the time, it works every time.
needless to say, i am often late to pick them up because I don't know how gearing works

For shits and giggles, when I drove my 2020 M2C today, I put it in my M2 setting (Sport+ motor, comfort steering) and tried the same set of driving parameters as the G87 in their review.
1. 2nd Gear, 20 mph, the car shoots out like a rocket as it is in boost.
2. 4th Gear, 30 mph, the car is around 2k rpm, torque builds quickly & you're able to ride it all the way up through the gear. I counted about 5 seconds from 30 to 50 mph. It doesn't bog down and it feels more than adequate to pass other cars quickly.
I love the 6 speed in the F87C.

TL-DR: The S55 is geared towards low to mid range punch. The S58 is geared towards high end power.

Reviews are not that great about steering feedback either. Same typical numb with heaviness.TH even reported that it is a regression. I wish BMW put some more effort in steering feedback.
